Bonfire Night

All over the United Kingdom, Bonfire Night celebrates the anniversary of the Gunpowder plot and therefore reminds the story of Guy Fawkes... it's tomorrow, November 5th !

But let me tell you about the graphic novel created by Alan Moore and David Lloyd : "V for Vendetta" consisted of a series of comics, issued from 1989 to 1990. It told a story whose hero got inspired by Guy Fawkes.

Below, Evey's words are a kind of leitmotiv in the film : click on the first line to view a short video taken from the beginning of the film :

Remember, remember

The fifth of November

Gunpowder, treason and plot !

We see no reason why

Gunpowder treason

Should ever be forgot !

Guy Fawkes wanted to blow up the Houses of Parliament to kill King James.
