Here is an interview of George Clooney

click on "Rolling Stone" magazine  logo
[ The interview was made 5 years ago by Gavin Edwards ]
Actually, you don't have to read the complete interview ! I just intend to show you the introduction to the interview, and the kind of questions the actor might be asked. Thus you can only read the questions  - of course, if you are interested in reading the whole interview... well, you can do it !! :o)

How far would people go ?

On Wednesday night, a new "game" was on air on a French TV channel. Click on the TV set to watch the video extract, on the BBC :

"Christophe Nick, the producer, said he was amazed that so many contestants [in the Game] followed the sadistic orders. He said that only 16 out of the 80 contestants refused to administer the electric shocks."

This "game" was based upon Milgram's experiment.
Here is a short animation caricaturing it :

And now... would YOU be ready to do ANYTHING to be on TV ?  Would YOU blindly follow ANY order ??

contestant = someone who participates to a game/a race/a contest
sadistic (sadique)  /  upon = on  /  blind = that cannot see   -  blindly = adverb

This pretty dynamic video depicts the various articles
of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights

"The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a non-binding declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, partly in response to the atrocities of World War II. [...] it is now considered to be a central component of international customary law [...] The UDHR urges member nations to promote a number of human, civil, economic and social rights [... as] part of the "foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world."
Wikipedia article                     non-binding = that doesn't
make it obligatory
