You may all know Hugh Laurie, the lead actor in "Dr House" series...

In this short video clip from an awarding ceremony, the actor plays the interpreter of Helen Mirren into French. He seems to be getting on her nerves quite fast, thus she makes it difficult for him ... though in the end it's nothing but self-derision   :o)

The series is American and so is Dr House's accent but yet, the actor is British !
He is said to have worked hard on his accent to pretend he was American : otherwise he would never have got the job !

Nov. 12, 2016 update : Guess-the-google is temporarily offline for maintenance. Hopefully back online soon.

Guess the word that made Google
answer by showing these pictures !

Here is the rule of  "Guess-the-Google" game : while you watch a group of pictures (max. 20"), you have to guess which word search these illustrations are issued from. Each game includes 16 series of pictures.

> > >  CLICK on the above picture to start the game

To get a smart score, you have to be quick.
Though some searches are rather easy to guess, others are harder to find ; moreover, from time to time you'll learn new words... be careful not to become an addict :o)
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

be issued from = be the result/ consequence of          though = although
An addict = a person who cannot stop doing or using something, especially something harmful

"Walk the Dinosaur" is taken from the soundtrack of "Ice Age 3"

Not only does Queen Latifah play Ellie the mammoth in the film,
but the American musician, rapper, actress and singer
also performs this catchy song.

Did you watch the original film ?
Then you may recognise her voice  ;o)
You can find the lyrics here  >>>
"Walk the Dinosaur"

catchy (adj) : a catchy song makes you feel like swinging and dancing...
                                      it's full of rhythm !

TRAVEL  AROUND  THE  U.S.A.
WITH  THE  FAMOUS  CARTOONIST
:o)
This cartoon was originally released in August 1939
(Robert Cameron Bruce is the narrator).
It was nominated for the Academy Award as "Best Cartoon of 1939".

This travelogue across America is filled with sight gags such as Indians who walk horizontally up and down the faces of cliffs to get to their homes, a Texas cow puncher who really punches cows, or Mr. Butter Fingers climbing the outside of the Empire State Building like a fly !

By the way... what is a travelogue ?
