Icelandic volcano -SATELLITE PICTURES

On March 20, the Eyjafjallajokull  (pheeew  ;o) volcano bursts for the first time in 190 years

2 days later, lava continues

to spew out

and spill

into nearby canyons

 

  April 14 : the Icelandic Civil Protection Department orders evacuations of towns and farms near the volcano due to flooding caused by the melting snow and sub-glacial eruption

Nasa's Terra satellite shows the ash plume travelling
