Queen Elizabeth II is said to have sent

her first e-mail in... 1976 !

Though the Queen is now 84 she is keen on modern information & communication technology and on top of the  official website of the British Monarchy you can see the  RAF Marham Gallery of photos /  the  Twitter British Monarchy  account / the   latest Royal Images  / the latest Summer Opening / the British Monarchy Flickr gallery.

1997 :

The Royal site starts.

December 23, 2007 :

The Queen launches her own channel on the video-sharing

website YouTube : youtube.com/theroyalchannel.

This launch marks the 50th anniversary of her first

televised festive address in 1957.

February 2009 :

The Royal.gov.uk website was completed

with more video and background material

on the website.

 

July 10, 2009 :

The Twitter account @BritishMonarchy has just gone

live, following several weeks of testing. ''The intention

is that it is a news service rather than her

personal voice'', a spokeswoman explains.

July 25, 2010 :

Buckingham Palace launches

Flickr photo account...

Commenting will be deactivated for all of the pictures on the account, the Associated Press (AFP) says.
